Each incense holder is one of a kind

In the late spring, summer and early fall, this incense holder is part of my morning ritual. After I put the kettle on for tea, I open the kitchen door and light an incense stick, and add it to the incense holder. The earthy scent of the incense drifts into the room, which grounds me and connects me with the outdoors.

I also added incense holders around my deck, where I use incense to repel mosquitoes. I prefer to burn strongly scented incense like citronella before guests arrive. During dinner, the lighter scents of sweetgrass or desert cedar continue to keep bugs away without overwhelming the air.
